Winter Fun at Honeoye Lake!

A scenic 20 minutes from Reed Homestead, finds you at the Cumming Nature Center. You'll find 900 acres of preserve, in the hills above Honeoye Lake. Just 7 miles south of Honeoye's Main Street, at the Nature Center, there are beautiful groomed trails and glorious views.

Upcoming Events at Cumming Nature Center

Feb 3 enjoy Yoga in the Pines with Lynne Boucher or go native with Forest Bathing on Feb. 9. Grab your snow shoes for $5 rental at the entrance, and let's go! Cross country skiing or a walk in the trails will get your blood pumping and the glorious pines will actually help you fall in love with winter if you're not yet a fan. Cumming Nature center is associated with Rochester Museum & Science Center, and has a lovely following of fans - but never too crowded. Last March, was my first visit with the Maple Syrup tapping and pancake breakfast. Check Cumming Nature Center's website for all their seasonal events.

Other hidden gems....

Hiking the trails at Sandy Bottom Nature Park at the north shores of Honeoye Lake. Venture into the trails and discover boardwalks, birds and the beauty of the lake. The trail entrances are on West Lake or East Lake road, marked with entrances to Sandy Bottom Park. You also can enter on Main Street just before the bridge if you're traveling to the east. Stop in for lunch at Mill Creek Cafe Wednesday - Saturday or The Cornerstone Market Monday - Sunday. Freshly prepared food and a cozy spot to catch your breath after your adventures
