Propriertor

Amy Linehan kept her dreams in a shoebox as she navigated her career in the high fashion industry while working in Manhattan and around the globe. Carefully clipped color photos from magazines and catalogues made up the dream life she’d unpack on quiet evenings in her Manhattan apartment.

Today she’s living those dreams at historic Reed Homestead, the tastefully attended home and gift shop she operates along with her husband Dan. The inspiration from her shoebox is now an opulent, period guest rental awaiting visitors in the scenic Finger Lakes Region of New York.

Reed Homestead circa 1803

Rich in history, the Homestead boasts a State Historic Marker, indicating it's the first brick house in the township built by Philip Reed and his wife Margaret Fitch Reed.

Philip first encountered the bountiful land when he served in the Revolutionary War in the Genesee Valley.  His regiment came from Vermont.

After the war, Philip brought his family from Vermont to the Finger Lakes, as the history has told us on Christmas Eve by sleigh.

Reed Homestead Today

Reed Homestead is a privately owned historic home with a gift shop and guest rental accommodations.

Nestled in the farmlands between Conesus, Canadice and Honeoye Lakes. Bristol Harbor Resort and Bristol Mountain Ski Resort are a 20 minute drive and downtown Rochester is 35 minutes away.

Guests love the privacy along with the beauty of the sweeping vistas, gracious grounds and inviting atmosphere.  A touch of luxury in the countryside of the Finger Lakes.
